About ASASP
The Association of Synthetic Amorphous Silica Producers (ASASP) is the European sector group representing the majority of synthetic amorphous silica (SAS) manufacturers. Established in 1992 and operating within Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, ASASP provides a platform for companies to collaborate on scientific, regulatory, and safety matters related to SAS. The organization works closely with regulators, researchers, and industry stakeholders to support a science-based understanding of synthetic amorphous silica, including its safe use across a wide range of applications.
ASASP and the Synthetic Amorphous Silica and Silicate Industry Association (SASSI) share a common mission to promote knowledge, transparency, and responsible use of silica materials. While ASASP focuses primarily on European regulatory and scientific engagement, SASSI represents industry perspectives more broadly, including North America. Together, these organizations maintain long-standing alignment and collaboration on key technical, health, and safety topics affecting the global silica value chain.
