Our Mission
SASSI’s mission is to increase and disseminate the knowledge of silica and silicates to all stakeholders including association members, companies that use silica and silicate products in their manufacturing processes, end use consumers, as well as NGO’s and governmental regulatory bodies.
About Silica & Silicates
Synthetic amorphous silicas are white, fluffy powders or milky-white dispersions of these powders. SASs are hydrophilic, but can be made hydrophobic by surface treatment. SASs are produced by the wet route (precipitated silica, silica gel) or the thermal route (pyrogenic silica).
About SASSI
The Synthetic Amorphous Silica and Silicate Industry Association (SASSI) provides a forum to address industry-wide questions arising during production related activities as well as ecotoxicity, toxicology and regulatory matters related to the use of synthetic amorphous silica and silicates.
